Super Jet Replacing coil wire.. What to use?

Gotta replace my ignition coil wire. What should I look for locally?

I used a stock kawi oem one from a dealer. Also you can't go wrong with jetmaniac. He sells Jetskisolutions coils and has the fastest shipping in the industry. If turn around time is an issue then pm jetmaniac. Or email jetmaniac@me.com if you can't pm yet.

I know. I've considered all that, but right now I'm on a budget and up to replacing the wires myself. So I'd like to know what wires. Copper core from an auto store, or what.
I get alot of stuff from JetManiac he's an awesome and fast shipping seller.
I guess I should have specified I'm just looking for the wire itself more clearly

Copper core/stranded wire should be fine. Do not get wound resistor wire (sold most often by automotive stores).
I understand you are on a budget, but realize that a questionable repair will ultimately cost you time and money.

Alright sweet. Thanks for the advice! This should get me by for now though. But eventually I will be getting a new/better coil. I think I've searched on here and you said that Kawi SXR coils are decent too. I'll probably either go that route or get a JSS one.

Kawi SXR coils are identical to SJ coils except for the wire and the price. Much cheaper. They come without boots or terminals, so buy some of those, too. I've always preferred MSD terminals, plug boots, and plug boot retainers. The wire insulation is pretty vulnerable, though.
I think the best option is the JSS rebuilt coil that JetManiac sells. If and when you have the money
A coil is one of those parts that is nice to have a spare of in your tool box. Bendix and starter are a couple others.

I've got MSD plug boots now. I bought retainers, but they break super easily. At least in my case. I bought the whole kit with terminals+MSD vice crimp tool from JetManiac. Really ended up using a pliers with a spark plug wire crimper on it instead though, but one of the MSD terminals ended up breaking in half after a few rides.. And I ended up using a stab in terminal from a local marine store, which I believe when stabbed into the wires, it vibrates more and breaks up the wires easier too? That worked for the past few weeks, but now it's broke again and I'm out of plug wires to cut.

So this has got me thinking.. From Jet, a JSS coil is 110$, and 80$ with a core(after you send it in you get refunded). From JSS, it's 60$ for the service. There's a guy locally that could sell me a used coil for 25$, and I could send that to JSS. Then I'm looking at about 85$ for that coil+shipping, and then probably under 30$ to fix my coil right now and have it working for the rest of the season.

Ys, but keep in mind that you will probably be waiting for a while to get that coil back from JSS - especially this time of year.

I have used a kawi coil with msd ends (no retainers) for four years now, fresh water mainly. Zero issues. I keep a jetmaniac provided jss coil just incase but lent it out for troubleshooting more than I have used it.

When it comes to skimping...one place I avoid is the skis electrics. I would rather leave my ski unturfed, no chin pad, with a stock hood then try to fix something as easily replaced as a coil.

heads up hes not doing the JSS coils anymore he sells what hes calling a Yamasaki coil think i paid 135 for it all said and done. It appears to be very high quality, i havent got a chance to try it out yet...still waiting for all my 701 parts to finish rolling in

My coil is from yamaha 1996 vintage I have replaced the wires a few times.
