replacing crank seals question

i am replacing the top end on my 62T/61X because it was worn out, i read alot about air leaks caused by old crank seals...

what needs to be taken off to replace the crank seals? i would guess, the flywheel, and the coupler? i already have my motor out and top end off so...

i shouldn't have to split the cases right?

anything else i should look at? the reeds are new, i might as well replace carb base gaskets and intake gaskets while im there, but the crank bearings feel great as well as the rod bearings.

thanks!

I am sure you could beat a seal in without splitting the cases .I am also equally sure you would destroy it in the process.

Perhaps, but the busy season has kicked in. I won't have much time to post in the foreseeable future.
