Could someone please help me out with this one, I´m going crazy.

Was it Chris Macclugage who made the huuuge jump after a start in world finals in the 90s or early 20s?
I remember that the start went of and when everybody hit the first wave, Chris jumped 3 times as high as the other racers. And when he landed he managed to pass everyone in front of him and won the whole race.

Even if it was Chris or not, could someone post the clip.

It was Mac who did that but not at World finals, it was during surf races in California in like 2003 or 2004. Pwctoday.com used to host all of the videos from the tour, dont know if it is still there.

It was the MotoSurf National Races in Ocenaside California you are thinking about. If you go to Pwctoday.com they have it in their steaming videos section. It is crazyy how high he got off the start and like you said comes back to win the race. He's defiently hard to beat in the surf.

I was there when he did the jump on the X2 in Myrtle Beach. We all had time to make a comment on how friggin high up in the air he was..... before he landed. Dude is a nut.

I believe it happened in 2002 at Oceanside. Think that was the same round that Joe Kenney did a back flip with no hood.

In 2003, at the last round of the Oceanside Series, Chris did a back flip and a barrel roll with his race ski after winning the championship. This was in protest because he wanted to enter the freeride/freestyle portion of the event. The picture in the Factory Pipe Ad is from then. That was the year he broke his collarbone in Oceanside on the Jetty.

No Motosurf series in 2004.

Myrtle Beach race is a blast. Im not really into racing but i got to run the beginner class with a triple piped Open boat and never been so beat and worn out in such a short time! I wish beachside races were more common in FL

lol watching those lake boys with their long ride plates trying to contend with surf going stright through waves was pretty funny.MAC is the man that guy rips any ski any conditions

Long Ride Plate, Short Ride plate makes no difference when racing in the surf. You have to know how to read the surf. Most that race now do not know how to time them or read them since there are very few surf races anymore. I was lucky enough to start back in 2000 when we raced half the races each year in the surf and learned how read the surf. 2006 MB I watched time and time again guys I was on the line with Pin it at the start only to pass them when they skyballed their ski's. Use the waves like double jumps and you will walk off and leave them.
