Reuse crank seals?

Ok guys I've done some looking and can't fine any info on this.

I just got done reassembling my 61x 701, all new oem gasket and crank seals. Long story short I had to split the case after les than a tank of gas....

Here's my question.
Is it safe to reuse my crank seals or do I need to replace them.

There so cheap I would ... Well let's put it this way say You don't and then reassemble everything and go out have a leak and have to do it all over again . Better safe then sorry right ?

If you were to reuse them I'd use a little sealant on the front crank seal for sure. But that'll take a day to set. Or you order oem seals for 40$ from jetmaniac and get them mid next week and have nothing to worry about. But one tank? Probably be fine to reuse them. Just pressure test your motor.

My gut feeling was to replace them but I haven't seen any discussion on the topic.
I don't see any reason why they would be compromised after such a sort time of use.

Reuse and do a leak down test. Do another leak down test after you get a tank of fuel through them just to be safe.

I would reuse. The crank seal is an energized lip seal. Over time the lip gets worn down and no longer presses on the shaft properly, hence why when rebuilding a motor you should replace them. Not only that, over time they can degrade and harden. If you've only run a tank of gas through the motor, the seals are still brand new.

Well, I didn't pay close enough attention when inspecting my cylinders I had one slightly out of round cause low compression. So I'm having them bored and getting new pistons. While my cylinder where getting bored I came across a 62t case and carbs so I decided to swap things over.

ill re-use any crank seal thats had less than a season on them. These seals last 20 years on stock skis. now if your building a $2,000+ motor, spend the 50 bucks on seals. For a stock rebuild, yolo.
