Reviews on Rickter FS2

I'm looking for a ski for 3-5' surf and boat chasing. I've only ridden a twangled backie chan and I didn't like it, it rode nose high. I'm hesitant to buy a hull without riding it, but there's not a lot of hulls around me. Everything I've read about the Rickter hulls is positive. The hull I'm looking at is the original FS2. The only difference I see between the FR2 and FS2 is the FR2 is layed heavier. How will the FS2 hold up in surfriding the way it is without reinforcing? I'm used to riding superjets and fx1's.

If you like your Superjet, you will love a FR2. I have a FR2 EVO and I'm 6'2" and 235lbs. and it doesn't ride nose high at all. Your best bet is to get yourself to a Freeride and try to set up a few demo rides before you throw a bunch of money at a hull.

Dude you're in West Michigan right? There are tons of guys on aftermarket skis in West Michigan. I know a couple guys specifically on a FS2. Others have SV1, Reaper, Super freaks, Air Blair Dart, etc. they all live in GR, GH and close by. You're best bet is to find out when they'll be riding Port Sheldon or go to WaveRave in August.

@Jobu has been rocking his FS2 in the surf for quite some time

Cody, get an Air Blair Dart if you find one available. I think Jeff had a couple of freshly built Fixxies available. Once in a while you may be able to find a pole Dart for sale. I have two Air Blair Dart's and they are awesome skis . Plus, Jeff is as cool as one gets. And he hand makes them locally.
