first off when riding i couldn't find a place to put my foot in surfstance. So modifying is necessary. I cut into the perfectly good $6500 fiberglass hull, formed up a mold out of some scrap flashing laid up some two part epoxy with fiberglass & little carbon kevlar for strength. As the foothold was curing i pulled it from the mold put her in place for the mounting flanges to hull. She is hard now and ready for the install, Then turf. That stock rickter turf is too slippery for my kind of riding so turfing it will be final step. I might as well reinforce my nose area as well while i will have the epoxy out to mount the foothold in watertight. I went as wide as i could and about four inches deep. There will be enough room to pad and turf all sides. hope this helps the next guy looking for more room in the xfs.
in the pics i have the footholds in the furthest back position. notice where my heal to foothold is now. it feels great.
