What shoes do you feel gives you the best ankle support and grip. Some people like wresting shoes. I like high top basketball and skate shoes, someone people prefer barefoot..

I used to wear water TEVA's but they don't seem to be available anymore. I would prefer something that dries overnight. I guess there aren't any dedicated shoes for this sport. I was really hoping there were. Oh well.

There are. but my experience with them is they are crap and fall apart quickly.

These are really nice with great grip, keep the sand out and dry quickly. I would recommend waiting for a decent coupon code to come up though. :)

I know a lot of people like shoes with soles, but I'm fond of barefoot if it wasn't for the slipperyness of that. These were a recommendation from a friend, and after using them for a while now, I really like them. They are NOT a shoe, so stepping on sharp rocks still hurts, but there's no better way I've found to get increased grip without adding a lot of thickness under the foot.

Wrestling shoes are pretty solid, I prefer high top basketball shoes in the ocean for maximum shock absorption and ankle support. Skate shoes have good grip but not much ankle support.

If you have a tray with good turf and underlayment padding riding barefoot is really my favorite for feel of the ski and overall beach feels.

I use to run the Slippery Matrix boots then the Jetpilot Race Boots but they have pretty much stopped selling them.......... May retire when my shoes wear out!!!!!!!! I prefer a good solid sole and more of a high top fit.........
