Riding Stance

I grew up riding a 650sx using a surf stance (one foot behind the other on opposite sides of the tray). Now that I have an '07 SuperJet, I see a lot of guys wave jumping with both feet next to each other. Is this a better stance for jumping? I find it harder to balance but just curious?

It seems like many riders are staying in their footholds all the time. It may work for you, If not then try some full length slots so you can stand anywhere in the tray and still hold on to the ski.

If you have foot holds perhaps Congo line style makes sense. The thing is your jetski doesn’t perform as well at being a jetski with all your weight in the back of the tray. Turning is important to me so I choose the da kine surf strap and surf stance.

Absolutely. People who ride both feet back don't understand center of gravity. The ski handles much better when you pivot the weight off the engine. Both feet back was for backflips and 360s. That's the only reason to ride that way. Or it's easier to jump around. All dumper jumpers look the same on every trick. Surf stance riders are all unique in their style. Watch any pro ride rec. Jts all surf stance.

I ride both surfstance and both feet back. Just depends on what I'm doing. If I'm in the surf, or going fast and carving, surf stance it is. Hitting a boat wake, typically both feet back. All of my skis I put a front foothold on them for riding variety. My shortened, rockered superjet rode nose high so I rode surf stance 95% of the time. My superfreak I just built, I can ride both feet back and it still rides pretty flat. Get a front foothold on your superjet and you can ride whatever feels best for you. Pic for reference

It's easier to backflip and roll with both feet back because the weight in the rear helps rotation and get the nose up. I also like a kick tail on my skis and will put a foot there when riding surf stance as well which helps get weight over the nose
