Super Jet Rn superjet build nose rocker.

The purpose of this build will be to hold me over from spending the big $ on a hull. The rocker on the nose will be just about the same as a rickter. The tray will also be made wider for more room. Im debating on taking an inch off the back. My focus right now is the hull i will worry about the motor when i get there as i am unsure if i want to throw my limited setup in it or step up to something bigger...




Im still in the process of shaping the nose these are just some pics to give you a idea of what i am doing. Ocdfreeride thanks for your help to get me up to this point if not i would still wondering were to make my first cuts. lol

i would shorten the pole and shorten the hull while you're at it! that way you are pretty much done with the hull and can focus on the motor after.

Nice start if your going to hack the rear do more than an inch though thats not really worth all the work is it!?! My sj is -3 which makes it real squirly but i like it...I would do atleast 2 inches off the back.

x2 on shortening the hull. I have never personally tried any, but from what I see most aftermarket hulls have a couple of different things going on make a more freestyle/freeride oriented ski. The pattern seems to be rocker and shorter hull on ALL of them. Props to you man, not just anyone can cut up a hull and give it a shot like u are. Good luck

i rockered my sxr as well as shortened it (top 4in, bottom 6in), lowered the gunwals 3 in and added tubbies and i really like how it rides. i also shortened my chicks sj 5in last summer and i wish i made tubbies at that time. probly will add them soon. i really like the way every thing turned out. i would also recommend building a front lip or grafting the old one back on but at the new rockered angle. i used the old one to hold the first layer in place and then built a whole new lip from scrach. here are a few pix of some stuff i did and may give you some ideas

Thanks for the input everyone. I started working on the tray for more width. A shorter pole will be a must. As you can see the rocker starts right in front of the motor mounts. I will be posting more pics of my progress this week. I should have this hull ready for this season. Nice work motoxderek ski looks good.

This is super wicked. How did you smooth out all that fiber glass to prep it for such a nice paint job??

I will start by saying I sold the project to get my jb -1 hull. what you see in the picture is not glass it is 2 part foam. The nose would have looked like this one ocdfreeride did.

Looks good! I was a lil unsure but I also put a nice rocker and took 3 1/2 off back. Here are some pics of mine. Nice to see other similar builds without separating the entire hull.
