Ok here's the story.
I met a young man last week with a 1999 SXIPro, This is his first JetSki ever. I tryed it and found a mysterious problem: It has a good low end power but doesn't have any top RPM. The more throttle you give the less RPM you have !!!! I had to drive it at 3/4 wide to pull out the RPM... And believe me... this top RPM isn't as high as my SXIPro.

So I tryed to figure out what's going on.

It has 2x mikuni 44mm (But a BN type carb and the other one is a super BN), FactoryPipe dry Pipe (Like mine), a high compression head. I don't know if it has porting, ignition device, impeller.

Anyway, I checked these items looking for a misfonction:
- Spark plug: ok. Work properly, good colour, good gap.
- Carb Butterflys: I want to know if the butterflys open properly and at the same time: OK
- Check the ECWI on the Pipe, doesn't work, changed the fuse, ok it works now.
- Check for a loosen spark plug cap, fixed one of them. OK
- Made some adjusment on the high speed screw on both carb, no results, up or down.

This Ski should have more guts, more speed, more power, more RPM. It runs like a stock Ski... It has almost the same aftermarket performance parts as mine but it doesn't have the power and RPM of mine.

Do you have some advice about what should we look for ? Could it be the Reed valve ? I plan to change both carb with another set to make sure this is not the origin of our problem.

Kinda sounds like an exhaust leak. I blew the coupler on my SXR this weekend and that is how it felt. Hit low but no RPM up top.
