RRP handle pole, use spring or no???

Does anyone use a handle pole spring on there RRP cast aluminum handle pole? And maybe a new one would be too much spring but a used on might be just right? And if so, which spring exactly?

Cast pole is super heavy, you're going to want an HD spring.

I run the Blowsion HD spring(kawi) with my RRP Billet pole. It holds the pole right at about waist height with no effort. I keep my pole tight, but not sticky tight.

I tried the blowsion HD spring and it was way too much. It held my handlepole 2 foot off the hood it was almost impossible to reach in the water. No matter which kawi spring you use you have to cut off the last two inches just before the 90 degree on the long side of the spring so it will go up one of the tubes. I took out a used in almost wore out 750 stock spring and cut it in the same spot and put that in and it worked perfect. Just posting this in case anyone else winds up in a similar situation needing a little something but not too much.

if you take a small propane torch to any spring that holds the pole up to high or doubles as a catapult , you can take a bit of tension out and make it perfect.
i've done it several times. takes 2 seconds and you don't have to remove or cut anything
