So I picked up a GP760 a few months ago that had bad piston scoring after being run completely out of oil. The engine came apart ok, and I didn't see any corrosion in the cylinders or crankcases / crank. The crank it's self has very low hours, and was replaced just before it was run out of oil.

Do you think the crank is ok to re-use in a ski? Bearings feel smooth and tight, but I know it was ran without oil till the top end ate it's self.

Is it ok? maybe, dice roll
Is it good? no

Would I run it in a stock 650 surf motor, probably

Probably totally fine. The top end will blow from a lean condition far before the bottom end will. This is what multiple engine builders have told me. And general.knowledge of how the engine gets lubrication lends to the same idea.
