I sent mine back to Skat hoping they would cover it under warranty since mine was right around a year old but I had to pay out of pocket for the repair. I did't think mine had enough time to corrode and felt it was a clearance issue but what do I know.
There should be plenty of welders in Louisville that can weld that back up for you to fix it.A little bit harder but a good welder should be able to fix it.
Jace,Only FX-1 on here is an experienced welder and might be able to offer you his opinion. But tricky's idea is a great way too
There is no easy fix for this one. The housing is split on the other side as well. I'm going to send it off and have it mounted in a new housing. The stainless mag insert it fine.
Yeah, I wouldn't weld that. Besides how nasty and difficult that aluminum will be to weld, there's still salt and corrosion underneath is already and it would continue to swell and break again.
Was there any noticable vibration or performance loss to notify you something was wrong or did you just come across this while pulling the pump for some other reason?
Nothing. Ride was great. Took the pump out to install a bored nozzle and found the cracks. Impeller was rubbing on stainless wear ring. I will send it all out to be serviced and brought back up to spec.
