There are a few things you can do to minimize the number of hits you get when you search the site:
Option 1) - Search thread titles only
The single and most effective way to minimize your results is to only search thread titles. You can even improve your results by only searching for key phrases; ex: foothold install, scupper, or one way
Option 2) - Search only within a specific forum.
Why search the entire site if you want to find a buy a set of carbs when the only threads with carbs for sale will be in the For sale forum.
Also, I title ALL threads in the TechFAQ to be picked up when members search the boards. So if there is a topic that is covered 156,349 times chances are there is a thread in the FAQ.
Option 3) - Search threads that have a high number of replies.
It is highly likely that if a thread with more than, say 20 replies, then there is some meat and substance to the discussion.
You can use any one of the three by itself to minimize search results, but combine them and you will get to exactly what you are looking for.
Lets try it using 2 criteria to minimize results:
Serch using the following criteria:
Option 1) cooling (titles only)
Option 3) At least 50 replies
Results:
B-pipe cooling, routing water lines
- Search only thread titles
