searching for a better motor mount

i had a yamaha motor mount for a couch that was awsome, the plate on top that seperates was much bigger and better and was the same dimensions of the sj mount. bad thing is i cant find it to take a pic. so anyone know what motor mount that one could have been??

Jetmainiac has some sets for sale I think. I have a spare set as well if you were in a bind. I need to sand blast them and paint them first though.

gp800 mounts. Jetmaniac sells em pretty cheap too. They are a tad bit taller so you might need less shims

i remember those now, i dont like the design. the thru bolt and bushings are too small imo.

Aren't motor mounts SUPPOSE TO break? I look at them like they are the "Fuse" in our drivetrain. Are skis weren't exactly designed to do the kind of things we do on them. I'd much rather break a $30 Motor mount than rip out a hull insert. Motor mounts are the price you pay to throw down 15' backys

i already ran one of these gp mounts and it held together when the monkey grips failed all around it, no inserts ripped out. my problem is the slow breakage on the mounts, they start seperating and then i do something not worthy of breaking a motor mount and POP! i would have NO problem adding a couple extra inserts to run a unbreakable motor mount, hint hint manufacturers!

couch mounts are the best.......been using them for about 3 years now....




you might have to open up the bolt holes to allow them to sit a touch wider......

What about trying a set of GP1200 Mounts?
I will have to measure them up to see if they fit.



EDIT: Nevermind, they do not have any angle and would require a mod to them or to the bedplates to work.

those look to be straight up and down, not angled.....

here is what you need bro $155 shipped for all four, raider Monkey grips. best of both worlds really, couch monut in a stronger monkey grip. This is all I run. I keep them in stock too but never had to use them on my stuff once I changed to them.

Let me know and I will ship them back to the left coast if you cannot get them locally.

I am done with SJ mounts ! put 4 new OEM SJ mounts in March 2010...7 mths later the rear one under the head pipe has the top ripped off and the other rear one was partially ripped...Idok I agree and Brian MG's might even be a better way to go...Brian have you ever tried OEM couch mounts ? Berky milled his down about 2mm to match the height of SJ mounts or you can like Idok said drill them out a bit and slide em up higher in the hull...the two mounts on the pipe and chamber side are a PIA !
