shin carnage from last summer.

I did this attempting to bail on a waveraider at Barnegat inlet last year. I was couch jumping and got a little inverted tried to push off like a dirt bike ended up hitting or gettin hit by the ride plate. :):):):) hurt like hell then went numb. Still cant feel my shin very well. I should of just hung on. I havnt rode a stand up in the surf yet but im imaging some injuries in the future. Hopefully not tho. thought i would share.:beerchug:

Yeah I couldnt walk that day. And it throbbed at night pretty badly. I went to NYC with my brother the next day and did the tourist thing since he lives in CA. after that it was really bad and I went to the ER. They checked for blood clots(which is a cool procedure if the nurse is hot cause they gotta do an ultra sound right by your junk). I didnt have any. But the Dr said I probably wouldnt regain feeling cause I scraped the bone and all the vessels and stuff there. Its alright now just cant feel the skin above the bone.

^I had a similar thing happen when I was on my SJ last year, came up to a wakeboard boat wake and let off the throttle and dipped the nose..then pinned it right before the wave kinda like a backflip setup...was just trying to get a little air..it worked but I didnt have footholds or straps so when the ski came back down my feet went out from under me and I came right down on my shins on the rear bumper..I thought I broke my tibias right away it hurt so bad, just hooked up the lanyard and let the ski drag me back to the dock lol I now have footstraps to install for this season..also have a helmet haha

Nice. Well that kinda sucks not regaining feeling. Was your nurse hot?

Yeah Im just starting on the stand up, but shin guards and a helmet are in the plans soon. Id like to do foot holds also, havnt done fiberglass work since I surfed and fixed old surf boards. A little worried to cut into the ski.

Cutting into a ski ain't that bad. The first cut is the hardest but then your like hey this ain't bad at all and you will eventually cut your hull up at some point in your life lol.
