Should I buy this 03 SXR for 1,000?

Like the title says it's an 03 SXR. Hull is in good shape, the bottom has some good scratches but I've seen worse. It has footholds and tubbies. The pin on the pole bracket that holds the pole up when you're under the hood is broke.

Inside it has a TDR waterbox, a primer and a bilge with a dash mounted switch. Other than that the motor is bone stock. The colorful issue is that the electrics are fried. I don't know what he did, but one of the wires from the box to the stator is completely melted. So I am assuming the worst case that I would need a whole new box and stator. I found a box for $150, still looking for a stator. I think I can get it for $1,000. What do you think? I really had my heart on a RN SJ or an FX1. If I buy this, fix it, then decide it's too bulky (I've never riden an SXR and I weigh a hefty 150) what's it worth in good shape? Thanks for the help.

Honestly, if you are wanting to do any freestyle (Nose Stabs, Rolls), then I would hold out for a SN or a RN SJ (or FX).

If you just plan to rip up the lake, then the SXR is fine.

I own Both.

I thought so too until I looked up the book value. I think 3.5 to 4.5 k is more fair. But If i was local I would have already gotten it. But I just can't justify it to myswlf to pay 3.6k and then add 300 to 450 for shipping.

Still a very very good/fair deal for someone.
