You can still have good compression and have a worn top end. You won't experience performance issues so to speak, but when there is enough piston slap or bearing wear, something is going to give.

I'd look elsewhere for your problem.

HOW ABOUT A MISSING WATER BOX? LOL get a water box back in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:261:

lol shh but would it run that bad that it wont go past 20.. now i put that stator on and it keeps giving bogging out on the trailer. at least this weekend it ran ok on the trailer.

symptoms are that it runs great on the trailer but when put in the water it slowly goes up to about 20 , engine runs kinda hotter then usual.

have u checked ur plugs are they getting any spark? i had a issue to this a little while ago. jet ski seemed to run great out of water. then wen u put in in the water it bogged. all i did was put new plugs and plug boots on. and it was brand new again.

Well it could be any number of things. Let's start with the easy stuff. I'd look first into the fuel tank vent and fuel filter. Both/either could be clogged. If you messed with the vent, maybe it's backwards. Could also be that the fuel tank has a leak...if the tank can't pressurize, it causes wierd problems. Then check the spark on the plugs by laying the plugs on the head and cranking. If the spark looks really weak, trim the wire back a bit until the wires look clean.

what about a sheared flywheel key. that would cause a backfire and it would run chitty and not get up to speed. my buddy had similar symtoms on his
650sux. ended up that the flywheel was moving cuz the key was sheared and it finally got to the point where it wouldnt start at all.

I've had two instances where my ski wouldn't go fast. One was because of a bad fuel pump. The other was a bad temperature sensor. I guess I could also say bad jetting caused me aproblem once. I was way too rich.

i believe checked..what should i actually look for , i think one of my local riders already looked at that

if your looking for a sheared key on the flywheel you would have to remove the flywheel. and look at it.

might be a dumb question but how do the plugs look? that can tell alot about whats going on in the cylinders.
