Silver is my favorite ski of the ones we have but, it was getting heavy as
he11. So I FINALLY decided to do the refoam it. The foam was pretty much like a wet sponge. I suspect some leakage from where the steering cable comes through the bulkead, as well as through the openings that Yamaha leaves in the bulkhead. Needless to say, while it is apart I got some 5200 and went nuts sealing $hi+.
The ski pretty much ripped already. Hopefully the weight reduction will be like adding a few more hp. Dunno, we'll see.

List of goodies:

FP Type 4 dry pipe (have speed works in the garage but have not tried it)
Jet works Valve
14.7/18.5 solas
Worx grate
Jet Dynamics short plate ( sometimes a dominator depending on mood)
84mm "Tricky1" ported 61X cyl/62T cases
Weisco pistons
ADA head 35 cc(for now..........too cheap to burn straight race gas)
not real sure on compression because my gauge sucks, but should be 180ish
49 mm full spectrum carbs
Boysen mani. w/ rad valve
500 gpm rule
-3 pole/ zero deg. bars
umi bracket/turn plate
Yeti grips
KVPI trigger
24/7 nose piece
24/7 foot holds
and last but not least MSD enhancer

No, I had it painted a few years ago. Big Kahuna painted it somewhere around the time he painted Medlock's Fx1 red. That may be what your thinking about. The weather is sucking around here lately so I figured I would take care of a much needed project.:beerchug:

The paint is holding up ok. A few scuffs and scratches here and there from normal use.......have not had an issue with paint flakeing off. Not a hood trickster.

you should have increased the intake cooling lines (from the pump) when you had the tray cut out

why did you do this mod anyway? was your boat water-logged?

if you feel froggy and want to cut it open again, think about those lines plus add scupper drains, make them internal so they have more back pressure. also use 8lb 2-part mixing foam its less dense and wont take on water

I am not sure what you mean by increasing the intake cooling lines. You mean add an additional line? I am running dual cooling already, so the motor/pipe each have a supply- just do not have a stock bilge.

Yes, the ski was water logger bad. I should have done this little project along time ago.
I will not be doing this project again anytime in the near future unless I absolutely have to. It was not fun.
Some people like scuppers, some don't. I hate them. To each his own.

I used 2# foam. In my opinion 8# would be overkill in my application.

going to an 1/2ID line instead of a 3/8" you can still do it without cutting the ski up, just remove the existing and re drill.
