Wow. Good eye Brock. The sides do look more angular than stock. I suspect that is a Pro-Tec cylinder. That is a cast pro-tec head too and many of them were for strokers. Any chance that is a 5mm stroker motor in there?

Looks like the R&D wet pipe with water injection too. I like that pipe.

the sterring cable is the standard for SJ2008-2010 / F2F-61481-00-00 / length= 3130 mm.
is it different length to GM6-61481-10-00 for SJ1996-2007??? i don't Know.

The 2008 cable is much shorter than the pre 08 cables.... If you swapped your turnplate it will not do much for your steering unless you swap to the pre 08 cable. The trouble is the pre 08 cables do not mount up correctly to our 2008 poles!.... I am running the setup from TS innovations, check the new parts section of this site and you will see a post for it.... The cable is even a tad longer than the pre 08 cable! GREATLY INCREASED MY THROW!!!

manfish, thanks for the post. YOur right, you can't just replace the cable. The umi will bolt up but you will not get any extra throw out of it.

Littlecake, if you want the steering manfish has but you want to keep your umi plate I have a HD cable and kit that will work with your UMI turn kit. I also have HD umi plates I am working on. One of our local surf/freestyle guys keeps on breaking the stock turn plates and we are going to start making HD ones for him.

Let me know if your interested in the turn kit.
