So picked up a skat trak trim system for my SXR. I wanna mount it for freestyle because I mostly jump boat waves and would like some more height. I can't find and install threads so I thought Id start one. Anyone have any tips before I start?

One question I have is where to run the cable. Who has one of these installed and where did you run the cable?

trim is basically for backflips. you aint doing no backflip on an sxr unless its big surf conditions. save yourself the hassle of putting a useless piece of equiptment on your sxr. i learned to do barrel rolls on an sxr off boat wakes. i no longer ride the sxr but still have a couple. i only use a nozzle now for backflips and lightweight hulls with big power.if you want to install it, you can use one of the existing thru hull tubes. probably the main water line, so you'll have to change your water routing. dont doooooo iiiiiiiit.

I just fought this same problem. I found the lower right through tube was the only one the cable would fit through. But the nozzle maxed out hit the tray and I didn't want to trim the tray. So I used it for a down trim instead and drilled a new through hole

It was not my boat and if it was I would not have installed trim

I wanna get a Kawi based bob soon so this will eventually be going on that. Its BS saying a SXR can't flip either. Not saying I'm gonna do it but I don't see why I can't try. I promise you ill throw one now that I have this off one of our massive v wakes this summer. I know ill probably eat sh*t. It'll still be fun haha. Hate all you want. There is a proven history of heavily modded SXRs that have flipped also.

Thanks for the advice though everyone!

No mine is on a q8 and the trim was modified by EME. I'm not sure how the drop nozzle comes from skat, just thought I'd post the pic for you to use as a reference.

trim can be set up to raise the nose for freestyle or on some sxrs I have alos seen it set up the other way pull it and pulls nose down as for racing to keep it hooked up for better hole shot or around the bouys

Here is a picture of the cable coming out of the pump side. I turned the siphon tube into the new overboard line. I had to drill a hole through the pump mounting bracket for the cable end to run through.

Sweet looking ski! Do you notice a difference with the back rail cut flush? First pic post #18
