Ski wont turn off PLEASE HELP

so just had start/stop controls rebuilt but JSS and hooked it up and ski starts up but wont turn off when hit the red button or when i pull the lanyard

Test it with an OHM meter to be sure it's the switch.
Disconnect the black and white pin at the plug in harness, set OHM meter to R X 1 and see if the black and white wires on the switch plug short out (make a positive connection) when pushing in the red stop button. If it doesn't short then it's definitely the switch.

Oh, by the way... the pin connectors go bad to as they get corrosion in them and don't make a connection in the plug.
I hard wire them a lot.

Very true. I clean mine all nice and shiny then slap some dielectric greaso on them.

Oh, and to the OP, when you say it won't shut off, is it also revving to the moon?

Im sure he would have included the standard issue "PLLLZZZZ HEELLP SKI REVVING TOO THE MOOON" in the title if it was doing that.. Terrible feeling when that happens..

Remember a good way to shut your motor down if the start stop switch wont work, or when the ski is revving to the moon is to start pumping your primer. Well that is if you have a primer.

try putting your foot over the exhaust. its probably less work and quicker.
