SN Pole Options?

Just wondering if anyone has any input as to what my options are for replacing the handlepole on my square? Most of what I see available are for the RN. I see the AC pole out there, but really don't like the looks of that. Too bulky.

Can I put a UMI, X-metal, or RRP on there? If so, what do I need to do differently to make them fit?

Get a conversion bracket that will allow you to run a RN pole.

You have to relocate hood hooks on hood and hull and fill in all old holes. Then use a Wamilton or X-Metal pole bracket w/ any RN pole. I did it on below boat.

Yes. The Roundnose topdeck has the pole bracket sitting at a roughly zero degree angle.
The Squarenose topdeck has it angled, at about 10 degrees (something like that)

just glass in a wedge to make the area flatter, you can grind the end of the RN pole a little and between both of those get it further up.

the RN pole looks great on the square nose.

Or use a limitter rope as I do and run it. The Wamilton's bracket allows more extension then stock, UMI, R&D, Blowsion or any other billet bracket. I do stabs on the boat shown above and have come out of footholds allowing 195# of force to hit this pole and it is still going. There are square to round brackets made out there that will run $200, this would be the easy way out and probably cheaper to in long run. I think its LegDrag that had them???? Or maybe Steve802????

I could swear that the Wammer bracket looks identical to the XMW bracket.

Or do as I'm doing, and modify the SN bracket platform so it is level and will accept a RN Bracket and pole without modification to the pole/bracket.

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pic.

I cut out the entire bracket mounting area leaving just enough by the hood seal that I could bend it down straight. I then used 100 mile an hour tape to form an area behind that will support the milled fiber/resin mix that I used.

This is the first pour, then the ski will be laid flat and all the holes on top of the mounting surface will be filled the same way.

I will then use 2 layers of 1208 biaxial on the surface of the braket area, and 3 layers of 1208 behind along with 1 layer of 6.5 oz carbon fiber.

This will be strong as hell, and will accept a stock pole breacket without modifications or limitations on the height you are able to get from it.

I'm getting a bracket made by a member on this board. Aluminum, will run 2 botls instead of 1, no spring. Aluminum backer plate

He may not want to mass produce these so I won't say his name. He's probably busy building a topdeck anyways

I dont know, thats just a proposed solution that I thought up AFTER I modified my pole and bracket.

You can grind enough off of the pole, AND remove that rubber bumper on the bracket and get enough movement ( need a limiting rope though)

Interesting. Does that in any way mess with the hood hooks?
