Hey guys, I am new to the X and just bought my first sn sj. The stock pole sucks so I am looking for a shortened one. Would an aluminum shortened 750sx pole work on my sn? If so, what would I need to make it work? Thanks guys!
The best thing to do is find a Hazard bracket and a stock roundnose pole. The bracket makes it to where you can mount the RN pole to your SN. Much better upgrade than what you are trying to do.
It could work with custom bushings and some other tweaking, steering cable mount mods and whatnot. IMO you would be best off buying a Hazard SN to RN conversion bracket, and run a RN pole. They are very nice setups!
Thanks for the response! That is what I would really like to do. Just trying to find a rn pole. No one seems to be selling them right now. Trying to be as cost effective as possible. Broke college student lol.
Good luck getting that done cost effectively. I think the Hazard bracket alone usually retails for around $200. You can take a baby step in the right direction buy purchasing a shortened turn plate like the Cold fusion one. I think it is shortened by 1.5" only costs around $100 new.
Nothing beats a shortened rn pole on a hazard bracket, not even a shortened ac pole.. Not to mention the RN pole looks so much better! It's worth the money and the resale is always good too.
Hazzard bracket retails for around 150$ and he's had some for less than that as well. If you're really on the cheap you can modify your stock turn plate for straight bars as well, or even OVP with some riser blocks off of eBay.
I just put a KP pole with the hazard bracket and a Crazy Joe's chin pad on my 93' SN. Ended up costing me just over $900 and the hazard bracket makes it the easiest thing in the world to do.
