So many rickters...

Researched alot and didn't find anything similar to my exact situation.

Ready for my next upgrade - looking into rickter.

I live in discovery bay, ca

Summer time I ride delta , huge wind waves on big water and flat water with boat wakes.

Winter time I ride half moon bay regularly ( open ocean and swell), and pismo every other weekend.

Goal is to bust a backie and some tricks off your basic surf boat wakes , but still handle big wind waves, open ocean swell, and pismo.

I'm between xfs (would have more fun on flat stuff) or the edge ( more fun in surf) but really am clueless whether they will be able to be versatile and cross over or not.

Thanks all input is appreciated.

The boat launch lol. You can but there is a designated zone... It keeps you away from the breaking surf but its hugeeeee bit you get good visuals of the beach . When swell is big it's awsome, And when mavericks is up it's nutty and the other zone opens up

If your riding big swell, take a spin on a predator. The Brights are south of you and there's quite a few other Krash boats on the CA coast. Take a day trip and see if you can snag a test ride...you won't regret it.

Ya I'm open to other makes too, just rickter is a name I see come up time and time again. Locally everyone rides bobs and hurricanes ( ski clinic is local) but surf wise don't think they are compatable...

The krash seems a bit more affordable which is nice.

I probably ride 30% flat, 20% surf, 30% delta wind swell, 20% ocean swell.

I mention the delta wind swell because it's kind of unique, it's tidal + wind makes 4ft consistent waves...nothing quite like it!!

Every situation is different too, I mean if I had an xfs it probably wouldn't be good in ocean swell, but I have a turbo honda couch that is a BLAST out there and could be a substitute for that..

You are so close to a ton of test ride opportunities that you owe it to yourself to do some networking and find the boat that fits. If rrp is what you fancy, call TC freeride but don't hesitate to try everything you can get your hands on prior to spending the cash. Bobs and hurricanes are flatwater specific hulls, not saying you can't adapt to one for surf but why buy a humvee to drive the autobahn?

The Edge by far. You can flatwater it with a big enough motor but it will shine 100% in all your other categories. The Carbon look is only visual the Carbon hull is around 20-25lbs lighter. Hit up Taylor at TC Freeride. He's a great guy to deal with he will point you in the right direction as well to what you want out of your next hull.
