Ok so i bought a 550about mid april and was planning on painting it. So i strip off all stickers and reg #'s. And i write down them on a peice of paper and tell my mom to file these so i can get them later. Well I asked her today to go get them for me and guess what she says " well i cant seem to find them, i think i mighta thrown them away". :banghead: So now i just gotta get the bill of sale from the guy i bought it.

But so now all i have is a bill of sale. You cant register jet skis again can you? what should i do? What are the average fines for not having that info. maybe i can just sneak around on the lake.:sneaky:

register it in YOUR name as YOU'RE supposed to..... take your BOS and trade it in for a resgistration card.

I agree.

What you're supposed to do is buy it, strip the old registration stickers off of it, and go register it.

I love it when guys sell a ski and state "REGISTERED THROUGH 2008" in the sale. Since it's not registered to you, you're not the registered owner. Take your receipt to the secretary of state's office and hope you live in a no-title state. I purchased a ski from a guy who never registered it and the title had someone else's name on it. When I went to register it, I was told that he could not sell me the ski because tecnically, he didn't own it.

Also, stop relying on Mom to take care of your affairs.

go get the ski transferred into your name. the registration is good until it expires. You do not have to re register it, they will transfer it when you put it in your name.

That's assuming he bought it from in state.... I'm sure they'll try to make him re-register...

Check your state laws before you go in New-B.... might save some $
