So,why is there so much space between the engine/midshaft couplers?

And, how do i correct this?
Theres alot of space,the mounts are in the right place and the plate is slid all the way back.
Does the midshaft slide or something?

aprox how far apart now ? should be 2 to 4 mm

yami or kawi?

if yami you can press the midhaft forward while making sure you still have enough spline engagement on the pump shaft.service manual has required info.

on kawi maybe pushing the pump as far as it'll go.

some will add washers behind the couplers for both brands.

I've landed on my tail hard enough that the motor pushed the midshaft back a little.

Put the midshaft in a vise and hammer out the needed difference. I got this tip from somebody here and did it on my ski - works just fine.

I think the midshaft is supposed to stick out the back of the midshaft housing 20mm or so.

Thanks, i think thats what happent to me. I have landed on the tail and also have nose stabbed into the bottom of the ocean.
