I believe its attributed to the tolerance on the bore that the bearings seat in

Common. send ti to be bored to the proper tolerance of the bearings your using. Pressing method will also effect the bearing greatly.

Yo Stomper, If you don't have a machine shop in Brooklyn. Scott at Extacal Tool 908-561-1177 in NJ can do it for you. He's done my pumps before

Sadly, that failure may even ruin the pump shaft. This has been a known issue since the pumps came out. The inner part of the housing- the bore- is to tight by a few ten thousands. This small amount cannot be removed accurately by machining, however a 2" flapper wheel and then repeated trial installation of a single bearing can fix this issue. I have a (cell phone) video of a nice procedure using a lathe. It could also be done freehanded with a drill.
