Custom/Hybrid Sport Open Engine for Gen-2 X-2

I have a OEM Gen-2 X-2 hull that needs an engine. We run a Sport Open class in our racing, so looking at other than original engine. I have most parts of a Yamaha 66E engine and I can get a good GP1200 engine at a steal.
Has anyone got experience fitting those engines in a SXR/X-2?
Any other suggestions(besides Kawi 1100)?

I have seen it done. Dont remember the thread. Rhaas makes a adapter plate. You would need the 66e to superjet motor plate or which ever motor you decide to run.

Does the exhaust exit on port or starboard rear side?

FYI, I have a WDK 66e exhaust, engine, etc etc for sale.

What's the reason for not wanting a kawi 1100?

I've got an sxr1100 build and a waveblaster 1200. I kind of wished I went with an 1100 for the blaster, aftermarket parts have been tough to get and there's not much you can do to the stock pipe. It took me a year to find a riva cdi
