i was under the impression that epoxy does not stick to plastics very well at least thats what the guy at my local composites shop told me...
Sticks better than poly or vinylester resin. Besides, the plastic we're referring to is considered fiber reinforced plastic and not coke bottle plastic. Basically fiber reinforced plastics are polyester, vinylester, or epoxy resin mixed with carbon, fiberglass, or kevlar. The real difference is how they're viewed in the eyes of the user. Metton and SMC which the top and bottom decks on a SN are made from are typically referred to as plastics because they're inferior to hand laid or prepreg composites. Epoxy resins will stick nicely to these.
