Super Jet square nose fuel door/ nose piece solution

im having trouble with the front piece coming off over and over again. ive been lucky so far that i have not lost it but im tired or putting it back on.

i remember seeing some pictures of someone with extra screws in the front of it and wanted to see what was used

On mine, I run a bead of silicone under the nose piece on the front and along the sides where it makes contact with the top deck. Then I put 3 #12 stainless machine screws spaced evenly across the front and two on the sides in the middle. If you do the silicone, don't get too carried away with it or you won't be able to take the nose piece off at all. I put way to much on the first time and the nose piece was pretty much permanent until I pancaked a BF and broke it off.

I have no problem keeping the nosepiece on, But I just blew the gas door off of mine doing a stab yesterday.

For the gas cap I put two Self Ejecting Dzus Buttons on it. One one each side of the stock latch towards the top. Now that I have an internal fuel fill, I just glassed the door in.
