will a lowered roundnose handpole bracket work on a squarenose or will the pole not sit right on the hood

Yeah it will work but the pole will not extend all the way up. The squarenose has an angled mounting area whereas a round nose is more flat. You can level it off with reinforcing or just deal with it not extending up. If you have a stock sn hood it will sit low in the hood too, I just put a few pieces of turf to keep it flush with the top of the ski. My xmetal pole and bracket work very nice on the sn and looks killer too.

You will also need to grind away a bump underneath the mounting area to make the backing plate sit flush.

Are you putting a RN pole on the SN? There's some pics in this thread when I switched poles. The RN pole doesn't come up as high, but it works fine. These pics are with a stock RN bracket. A lowered bracket will work too. I eventually put one on my SN, but didn't get any pics, but it made the pole level with the hood.
