starter spins then clicks

weirdest thing is happening. Fx-1 61x ski/motor. when I go to start ski the starter spins but nothing engages. I try a few more times with same results then in the ebox i hear a click. After the click nothing happens until I disconnect battery and start process all over again. I am at a loss here.

Appears to be working fine. Now we just get a click in the ebox. Battery reads 11.8 volts. What should the starter positive read. I would assume the same once start button is pressed. Otherwise it’s a starter relay. Am I correct? :)

Before you take the ebox apart , I suggest you increase the bat voltage from 11.8 -which means 80% discharged- to at least somewhere in the twelves. For an easy test, you might consider using jumper cables hooked to your vehicle. If it cranks then..... you've found the problem.

Yep 11.8 volts is about 1 volt too low. Low voltage/amps won't spin the bendix fast enough to engage in most cases. Moisture in front cover making the bendix stick is sometimes another issue but your battery should be investigated. Attached pic shows a extra strong but light battery, notice it says extended life under AGM; it's designed with more plates than the regular Deka 9.20180519_111154.jpg

Charged it and it shows 12.8 now. Trying to upload a video of the starter in action once i hot wire it running through ebox and straight of the battery. I ran it out of the engine and it ran like dog sh*t.
