Blaster Stator and flywheel question

Hey guys

Long story short I bought a blaster to swap a 1100 in that I am doing currently. The ski came with the factory motor and was told the motor smoked a lot. So I checked the compression on the bench today and mag was 160 and ptp 150. I am toying around with putting the motor in a X2 since I have everything. I will obviously put crank seals in it and all new gakets. I took the front cover off and found it covered with black soot has anyone seen anything like this?
