Steal of the year..clean titled gp1300r---1500!

Well I just picked up a 2003 gp1300r with 2004 trailer and titles for both. The ski has 53 hours on it but the motor in it snapped a rod. Im not sure what happened to the original motor but the new motor from SBT blew on the first time out and since it was a year later sbt would not warranty it(dealership had it for 6 months nearly and it was put away for the winter so he didnt have it for a year). It needs a new upper case, crank(crank is new but rod is snapped), cylinder and one piston. Think 1500 was a good deal?

couldve got it for less. if your gonna rebuild it, the crank alone will cost about 600-700 bills. You might have trouble coming by used 1300 parts on the internet, but you never know you might come across a complete motor for a decent price. The nice part about the 1300 is that since it's fuel injected has no powervalves, once you re-build it you don't have to worry about screwing with powervalves and the carbs like the 1200R's, they are a royal pain something is always wrong with them.

Oh thought they got rid of it as soon as they came out with the 1300's.


Well when you rebuild it make sure you clean the powervalves and where they sit in the cylinder real good, they can stick and make it bog.

Yes, 2 skis and trailer, for 2500. Everything is flawless... The sxi pro alone would be 2k and that superjet is worth 1k more or less. The trailer is worth between 500-800. It should be close to 4k.... Well, not a huge steal but 1k or so below its true value :S

Those things arn't fun to work on, if they have the same type of pipe as the 1200s its a puzzle to take on and off. And like Ant said make sure the pv arnt sticking and are properly assembled
