Custom/Hybrid Steering cable help

While riding today the steering cable tube came loose from where it was supposed to be attached. That is the best I can describe it, so please look at the pics.

It looks like its just pressed in there and then crimped. So I am not sure if this is common and if there is an easy fix, or time for a new cable.

Also I am not sure if this was just part of being an old cable or because of the angle or distance it was installed from the turn-plate. This was my first time out after the build so it may have been caused by me. Would rather not do the same thing with a new cable.

Thanks!

Mine did the exact same thing at the start of the year, just push her back in and re crimp it. Its really easy to re crimp, pliers or a set of wire crimpers will work just fine
