Looking to swap my 2009 steering cable to a longer throw 96-07 style. I'm wondering what peoples opinions/experiences are on OE vs Aftermarket though?

Yamaha also had two cables during that era, GM6-61481-00-00 ran from 96-05 and they had GM6-61481-10-00 from 06-07. I understand the 06-07 is beefier, but does anyone have any experiences between the two? Does the 06-07 cable have more steering resistance since it is beefier? Is it worth it to spend the extra few bucks for OE or does the one for 109.90 that @JetManiac sells work just fine?

Resistance is the same between the 2 oem cables. The rods at the ends were made stronger is the only difference, but in use you cannot tell the difference between the 2 oem cables.

I would go with oem 2006/7 or get one through push-pull.com
