If the exhaust isn't leaking, why is my 650SX still not getting to full rev?

It's getting enough air.

Rev's great in the Driveway.

As soon as we take it to the water, it won't plane.

My Jet ski dealer says, "as long as it's getting spark, that's enough"

I was thinking the stator, but would that really make a difference?

Your dealer is full of ********.

They always rev fine without load.
Try putting the ski against a dock, taking the hood off, and running it (against that dock). That will tell you whether it's an air/exhaust issue.

Your carb(s) may have a problem, too.

yeah, agreed (should have a strong spark, I can barely see my spark!)

So I will look into the electrical...

Plug wires/Stator/anything else, like timing?

Ride it with the hood off. If it planes out and accelerates fine without the hood, and does the old thing with the hood on, it's an exhaust leak.

If spark is weak, remove caps, trim back lead, expose good conductor, reinstall cap.

Ohm out CDI and pulse coil. Let us know what the results are.

Be advised that a weak spark at low RPMs (i.e. cranking) is somewhat normal on CDI ignitions. You pick up spark energy with RPM.
