i have a pipe and head 35cc domes/

so do the mod for 110 at pro-tec or just get the enhancer 275$

i ride surf mostly. no all the time and need reliability and have a 4 lb batt is that ok with the enhancer

I personally don't like small batteries. But others will argue.

I'd go with just a pro-tec mod. Reliable and cheaper than an MSD which are known for their shotty reliability.

I can mod your CDI same as Pro Tec. IMO that is the best for reliablity. Don't waste time with a lighter battery, In the surf you will want a battery with more cranking power, you will take on water in the surf.

you just disable the REV right, you don't add a dial in there like pro-tec?

And I agree with that exact reason for not having a small battery.

Yes, just eliminate the rev limiter. I don't see a need for an adjuster, The only time my electric box comes apart is to mod the CDI, yeah just once.

No need to save weight when ridding surf, esecially with something like a battery.

Thats what I thought. Your right really no need for an adjustable rev limit. Only reason I can see it being needed is for a newbee's boat, or like on my fiancee's boat... just so there are no mistakes and blown engines. But even on top of that, she still knows to let off the throttle if the boat comes out of the water.

I like the enhancers, but DONT get them wet.

and Ive had a few ( like 4 ) bought for $50 or less, 1 has gone bad.
and thast because I let it sit in water all winter in the E box.

a stock CDI with no rev limter, and an advaced stator pickup, is nearly as good though, if you are careful with WOT running.

I run MSD enhancers WITH stator advance.

I wont pay $250 for one though.

Whenever I do the same mod as Protec to a CDI, I always put a little dielectric grease into the adjuster to give it a chance if the Ebox gets water in it. I also do the same to the enhancer adjuster, mine is over 10 years old and still kicking. I have never had a water problem in the Ebox yet, always dry as the desert in that little box..
