Freestyle Stock SJ Tank - can it be heat/reworked??

I have a stock tank that sits too close to an adjacent mounting - can the OEM tank be heated with a heat gun and reshaped a little to clear it?

It a none standard application so it's the only option short of fitting a different tank.
Thanks

I have not done it personally, but I hear the way is to drain the tank, rinse, make sure all fumes have dissipated, then fill with water, then use a heat gun and rework while it is full of water.

this came up during a discussion of B pipes being a tight fit with the oem tank, so apparently people push in that edge to get more clearance.

When I stuffed a kawi 1100 in my sj hull had to mod tank.. Took a torch heated it up hot to hand but not melting or changing the color of the tank and slowly rolled the tank in with something hard. Cooled it down and test fired had to do this 2 times to get it how it need to be to fit. But been riding all summer with no issues or problems and don't see any at any time

As said above, fill the tank with water, heat it up, when the white plastic starts to become transparent-make your new dents with pvc pipe or whatever you desire. Works like a charm, just takes ALOT more heat than you would think.
