Super Jet Stop button and lanyard killswitch does not work

Hello
I have made a few threads about this before around the place but after 6-8 months I still have not found a solution to my problem, Basicly when the ski is running and you want to turn it off hitting the stop button doesnt do anything and the same if you pull the lanyard, I have had this problem on and off for ages and just cant figure it out, I have replaced the start stop switch, the coil with a jss/jetmaniac one, the cdi to an epic, changed the plugs from the start stop switch and tested all of the wires with a multimeter but still cant find anything....

One of the guys on the aussie forums suggested checking the stator for a good ground but I have almost no resitance between the ebox and the motor and you would thing it wouldent run with a bad earth, Has anyone had this problem before or have any other suggestions? If I cant get this sorted soon I may just have to buy another ebox.....

Thanks for reading

Turn down your idle... Problem solved.

All kidding aside, there could be a problem on the female end of the white/black s/s wires that come from the e box.

open up the switch all the way and you will notice there are brass contacts in the switch that may be turning black. use a wire brush clean them off reassemble .... problem solved.

Yup, pretty simple setup, once it's apart it should be very obvious where the problem is.

I remember wanting to ride so bad when I had a bad switch. I didn't even have a s/s switch so I just left my idle way down and had the red + brown wires handing outside my hood to start the ski. Worked good the whole day.

Yeah Its not the switch..... Tested and retested With a used and one off a working ski and a brand spanking new one so I dont think its the switch....

Stator and coil have nothing to do with the stopping of the motor(which exception of stator being grounded, but motor wouldnt run w/o ground.) Only the s/s/s and cdi are involved. Disconnect the white/black harness at the ebox. Black is ground, test it there for good ground. Then start motor and jump black to white with a piece of wire. If engine dies as it should, then s/s/s or connections are bad. If it stays running, then open ebox. Repeat test but directly ground white wire at cdi. If it stops this time, then ebox harness is bad. If it doesnt, then replace epic to oem cdi and repeat.

Just clipped a test lead from the white in the ebox, Started it, Earthed it out on the neg screw, Killed it strait out! Ran a new piece of wire threw the gromet and put some new oem plugs on it and shabang, It Works!
But the real test will be after a few failed rolls or hard landings to see if it fixed it for good!

But im happy it works! All ready to ride xmas day!

Mine did it too. Run an extra ground wire from ebox/cdi to the battery and/or motor. Worked for me.

yes exactly the same. Nothing would stop the motor but flooding the carbs with gas or pulling a plugwire. and it just started suddenly with no reason after having worked perfectly for years.

Where/ how did you run the extra wire? Was thinking of just poking an extra hole in the stator wire gromet?
