Sending my motor to Jetworks to have Art build me a whole package. Ive almost saved enough in my paypal from selling all my Kawi stuff. I origanaly called him for a big bore motor. He suggested to add a 4mm stroker crank. Im having him port the cases and put a Hotrods crank in anyway so the stroker is just 500 more. Is it worth it? or should I not do the big bore sleaves and just do a fresh bore and stroker crank? Thanks guys
oh and Im looking for an intake to put my brand new 44 blackjacks on..! :highhorse:

If it were one or the other what do you guys think you would do? I of course want the bottom end hit but also need to be able to run WOT chasing boats down

If you can afford it, go for it.

For my motor, I already had a good std stroke crank and wasn't looking for spending more money.
I also had some concern about parts availability should something break.

In retrospect, I sort of wish I had ponied up the difference and went stroker.

Do both, I just did the same thing with them (84mm bb 61x, 5mm crank) and cant wait to try out my new motor! It gonna be sick

the r&d dominator intake is nice b/c you can get your carbs off alot quicker then normally with their adaptor plates.

Not sure what sleeves Art/Jetworks uses, but I am pretty confident that whatever he uses will be optimized for whatever stroke is used (incl. std stroke)

You need to keep in mind how much to rebuild and life expectancy of the motors. Also keep in mind the price of crank rebuilds if you bend a rod or bearings let go.

Do a motor that matches your skill level is the best bet. IMO

Mark, you would most likely know better than me but I have always disagreed with this philosophy.

You can't backflip a stocker so you'll never be able to do it without the appropriate hardware. You would have to step all the way up to big power / light hull to even be able to attempt it.

I have always advised to start big and learn what to expect from it so you don't have to relearn later.

However, you, Harrison, and Paul Lehr completely disagree with this so I seem to be at odds with people who know significantly more than myself.

Skill level be damned. Get the motor you want and can afford.
I've never seen the skill police where I ride.
