Super Jet or Sxi 750

So im not sure if this place to post this but here i go. I am currently looking into purchasing a super jet or Sxi 750 soon. Ive looked at both and the Kawasaki defiantly seems like a cheaper route to go. Ive ridden a few super jets like frostys back up ski and a few other modded ones and i love them but what are the differences in the two skis because i dont wanna purchase a sxi and be disapointed.

Skip the Kawi 750 and go for a SJ, even a 650 squarenose is better than a 750
I got a SN 650 as a backup ski to my 750
Liked it so much, I gave my 750 to my son and ride the SN now!

Do u have any reasons for this. And about the Square nose. What are the major differences between the square and round nose ski's cause id buy a squarenose because they are so much cheaper just are just ugly lookin lol.

750 has lots of speed but no bottom end power
SJ has bottom end power and is much looser, lighter and better for freestyle
Lots of SJ mods available and Yami is tops for reliability
all SJs have the same bottom hull.
SN and RN top deck the only difference, SN has lower handlepole bracket that RN owners spend $$$$$ to copy
ugly is as ugly does
keep hating the SN, I want to pick another one up cheap!:Banane09:

Get the Kawi, of course! :cheer:

I've been riding Kawis since the beginning.

I see you're new. Expect a very bias viewpoint which leans strong on the SJ side on this site, FYI.

hes right.

but its for a reason. if you want to jsut cruise then get whatever you like. if you want to do anything other then cruise stay away from the 750. just skip the musical skis and go yamaha. im not knocking kawasaki but i got rid of my 650sx for a 750. then turned around and got a sj. the 750s have a God awful gay pole bracket. they maybe slots in the front of the hull to so the brakc would appear flush. well when you jump or nose stab this brakcet flexes and we all know wht happens when metal and fiberglass play bumper cars. they also all crack right there. if you want an aluminum handlepole one day your choices are limited to dales and ac. umi plus bracket kit is like 1200. my superjet right now ot powers my 750 with less parts and i had factory pipe msd westcoast head dual carbs waterbox, prop. grate... everything.

plus heres biggie. if you want to put parts on it. sj parts are plentiful in the for sale section of both forums.

The above bold is kind of a silly statement. Yeah the SJ is lighter and is better suited for freestyle but to say all you can do is cruise around on a 750 is not accurate, you can freestyle a 750 just fine, trust me. Me and my crew of 750s and 800s rip it up pretty good, with the biggest smiles on our faces.

Look, most guys are not performing BRs and Backies (on Yam or Kaw) and most guys are lake, weekend, recreation riders. So if some guy finds a sweet 750 in his budget, don't get all SJ fanatical on him. All skiis have there own technical aspects to pull off a given trick, work the technique, practice a have fun.

Everyone in here should be concerned with going BIG and BIGGER until all they can do is rec ride due to old age/injuries (I'm gettin there way to fast)!!!

Modded SJ all the way!!

I'm pretty new as well and would recommend an SJ. There are more of them around most places which means you can get more help. Aftermarket parts and mods are a part of the buying price as well for your ski. Used parts for the SJ are all over the place.

I would recommend an SJ. I do like the wide tray of the Kawi for sure.

First pic is a Christmas ride we did back in December (stock SJ), my ski is now a pimped out surf SJ ;-)
