Thinking about getting a waterbox for my 09 sj, what do you guys recommend?

If the stock one is in place then leave it there. There arent any well designed boxes available anyway. All you are going to get is an empty can that makes a lot of noise.

TDR box = loud, probably louder than the X-Metal, unfortunately it seems finding a stock RN box is much tougher lately than it was a couple years ago.

I've used a couple of aftermarket waterboxes on a variety of motors and have gone out of my way to go back to stock.

I was running a stock RN box but now rocking a carbon water box that I'm really happy with it weighs 1.7lbs runs with less than half the water in it and is close to the same Db as stock, I want to see where the limit as far as quiet vs power is .

I like the sound of composite box's vs. a alum box. Sounds so deep and throaty, which when a little loud is way more tolerable compared to a alum box that is just as loud, but has the high pitched "pingy" sound.

TDR waterboxes sounds amazing. I am a fan of loud mean and in your face. That is the box of choice for me, I can't vouch for power but just being loud and bad ass im goin with TDR. Most waterboxes probably don't help with performance, which suprises me knowing how much a good exhaust can improve your performance. I have also ran Factory Pipe waterboxes and those are nice, they won't blow up like stock fiberglass ones will if you get a good "backfire" in the pipe. JMO
