Superfreak badass

I have a freak carbon badass -8.5, it is a great ski! Very easy to ride, stable, rides nose low, light as hell, super easy recoveries and very forgiving. Ski flips and spins easier than any other ski I have ridden and you can pin it across the lake without it trying to walk out from under you. The only thing I have found on it that may be a negative is that I think the setup wake is harder to hit perfectly than other skis, it's weird and I have not been able to put my finger on it yet.

Forgot to add: I rode 2 different -4.3 in surf and liked them also, excellent surf ski.

I don't own a badass but I have ridden several. Coming from a superjet the freak is crazy stable, I am on the heavy side and I felt I could come in coasting and almost come to a stop standing up. The tray is super wide and I felt right at home right away. The skis turn very fast compared to a sj maybe it's because of my stock steering But it felt very quick to come around. All in all I fell in love with this hull and hope to own one sooner or later.

Edit: Both hulls are -4.3

I have a carbon -4.3 that is 250# RTR, Everyone knows what a super awesome ride these skis are! Stable, light, predictable, flips higher than most AM skis off boat wake and in surf, with less effort, and is fun to cruise the lake on!
What has impressed me the most is the strength of what was originally built as a flat water boat, mine has held up vey well in surf. I love it!

I've ridden many OEM and AM hulls and this hull is still pretty high on the list. It's the most predictable and most forgiving hull I've ridden in surf. It reacts very well to user input and is very stable while still being able to break loose with the best of them. It never chine walks or hooks a rail unpredictably and Bobs you off, this hull is straight and very stable at high speeds. The center of gravity is very low and the tray is huge and it has the best footholds on the market! It rides very flat and predictably which makes it easy to jump on and get used to but leaves a little to be desired for carving or staying hooked on a wave face. It's very versatile, just pick which length you want

I owned an rrp fs1. Loved it. Rode my wifes -5 that i built in surf. Sold the fs1 two weeks after.
The best thing besides what is mentioned above is the fact that you dont need alot of motor to make it a very rideable, fun ski due to the weight and steerability. It wont fall over like most fs hulls do at speed. Just makes you a better rider due to its stability. Cuong Son and Taylor Curtis both rode mine in pismo and they were stoked. The fitment of the pump and the integrity of the hood liner are the weak points Ive encountered. Tem and Nancy fantastic to deal with and are great people too. Mine is a 4.3 with a slightly longer tray than jeastes' Ive ridden his and theres virtually no difference.

I think that's why I enjoyed yours more Murphy. I ride surf stance and keep my left foot as far back as I can. That extra tray I assume is what did it for me.

The good... I like mine... It's a -4.5 or -5.5... I can backflip, barrel roll, monkey jump it, or even ride on the hood... It's so stable, I've monkey jumped the ski landed on the hood and took off without spilling in the water... Complete ski weighs 247 lbs dry weight with b pipe & X Metal (X Scream) water box... Real good sound with a 7 port cylinder... The large exhaust outlet prolly helps that along with the waterbox...

The bad... Fit & finish is A LOT better with some other manufactures out there... KDX are REAL high quality fit and finish.... The Hurricane hull rides awesome and looks to have a nice fit and finish but I haven't gone over one real close... If you buy new, be prepared to do some body work and lots of sanding....

The different... It's a hybrid hull IMO. Its a great all around ski... Surf or flat.... If your looking for just a Flatwater hull, you may want a Circus, Revolver, KDX, or Hurricane... .02 cents
