superjet hull weight

Just weighed my RN on a bathroom scale. UNBELIEVABLE! Weight without long block, pipe, jet pump and shaft, no rideplate no gas tank. 174 lbs!!
so basically it has the aluminum water box, 2 500gph bilges, the MSD TL brain and trigger plate is in it, motor mounts, exhaust hoses, full handlepole setup and throttle and steering cable.

hood without extinguisher was 19.2 lbs!
I cant wait till I get my carbon XFT!!!

Hello I just saw your post and am wondering if you can tell me how you liked
your XFT? Was it significantly better than a stock Superjet?
Thanks so much!

Got some numbers for you guys that I’ve also been wondering throughout the years. I do not have any bare Superjet hulls to weigh so if one comes through my shop I’ll weigh it and post here.

The first hull here is a 24/7 built full carbon Superjet. Weight is of the hull, hood, nose piece, scupper, hood hooks, hull inserts and nothing else that would add much weight. 106 lbs.

This second surprised me. All of these I’ve seen for sale people claim 60lbs..
XFT fly-x. Weight is of hull, hood, nose piece, complete xmetal pole, bracket, hardware, trim, throttle, and steering cables, angine mounts, aluminum ebox bracket, midshaft, and a lot more misc hardware. 143 lbs

So the XFT Fly was just missing the engine, electronics, fuel tank and pump at 143lbs? That’s not bad at all. Not compared to a soggy bare Superjet at 173lbs

I would take a wild guess that the bare hull is probably 30lbs - 40lbs. lighter without the pole and all the other accessories you weighed. Maybe another 8lbs for the hood?

Even if it’s a total of 60lbs lighter bare without hood, that still is 83lbs. Light for sure, but nowhere near 60lbs bare

This guy says his was 49lbs. What am I missing?
