Super Jet Superjet problems, advice? Opinions?

OK, so first of all. The day this started happening it was running perfect. I took it out for about 2 hours, I got home, and went to flush it. The trouble started, as I was about to finish flushing it. I unhooked the hose, and went to give it the throttle a blip to get the water out, when I did so the engine starting limiting, I immediately went for the killswitch it didn't work. I then went straight to the throttle and tapped it, to try and slow it down. after a few blips it stopped limiting and died. I have just been upstairs seeing if it was going to do it again, and it wouldn't start, it was turning over nicely, but wouldn't fire. I then grabbed some "start ya bastard" or ethi, and it would idle for a while then stop, i sprayed again and it would idle as soon as I blipped the throttle it bogged and just stopped every single time.

My conclusion is, it's the carbies (massive blockage) or the fuel lines.
My conclusion could get wrong, hence why I'm here trying to get help of people that would most likely know more then me.
if it is the carbies how should I go at it?
Also it's a 2004 model.

I had problems on a kawi that once i hit the throttle it dies when running off starting fluid. I showed it to somebody and the just kept spraying the starting fluid in and then i had throttle control. Maybe add more fluid and see if it runs longer? IDk but this is a good site so im sure somebody will get ya going soon!

Have the carbs been cleaned or rebuilt in the last few seasons? I would start there...also if the fuel lines are hard or near brittle replace them. It's cheap enough to run new lines. By "ethi" I assume ethanol...2 strokes don't run well on this stuff. And yeah don't toss starter fluid down the carbs, as stated there is no oil in it so your engine is not getting any lubrication from it.

Good luck and post the results.

What do you mean by "limiting".

Starting fluid is Ether.

Could you have gotten water in the motor while flushing it?

Did it run perfect all day and during the flush and started during the flush? Did it run all day and was running bad as soon as you started flushing it? Did it start running bad when the day ended, before the flush started?

Starting fluid is bad for the motor, and it should be avoided. It should not be used when adding fuel will work. Avoid pouring gas into the carbs, it's dangerous. use a primer, and if you don't have one, install one. Starting fluid should be reserved for water ingestion only. People who think start fluid has no place on a jet ski, haven't spent much time in the surf, or maybe they are just that awesome in the surf.

Hey guys thanks for the replies.
I have read a bit, and yes I have stopped using ether. But it will NOT start without it.
The carbs could or could not have been rebuilt/cleaned. People say stuff, but I don't believe it until it's in a receipt form.
I felt the ski was having extremely small carb issues, every now and then. Sometimes it would flood in the middle of riding, but once I let it sit for a while it would run great.

"vumad" this is in response to you, It ran perfect all day, and during the flush. It went bad about the last 5 -10 seconds of the flush, that's when I left it to come back the next morning. Then all this started

i use starting fluid or brake clean all the time to start my boats. there is so much oil coating everything from the arrestors to carb and intake tracts, that its probably a 20:1 ratio that its getting started with. when it revs to the moon, its running out of gas and running lean. this can be caused by it being out of gas, fuel lines, filters clogged, pumps not working, diaphrams hard or fuel lines just empty or cracked. use a process of elimination to figure out whats wrong with it. check the simplest things first, before tearing it all apart. YOU ALWAYS START WITH THE SIMPLEST :):):):) FIRST! mechanical diagnostics 101!

x2. No starting fluid in a 2 stroke certainly makes sense in theory, but come on.....you're not trying to run the thing on ether for 2 miles up the river. Who has actually had a cylinder failed or even damaged from starting fluid use?
I personally use some premix in a spray bottle because that's what I am used to. But I don't think you'll be blowing it up with starting fluid.

Buzzard.
My problem is not that it's rev limiting now, the thing will not start without spraying ether in the carbs, and when i get it started, asoon as I throttle it bogs and dies instantly. No rev outs
