Superjet Questions/opinions

The bank fell through and i'm ending up not getting that wicked ski in slutty's sig. So now we have to go through a dealership and get a new one. While i was thinking that i was gonna have to settle for a sx-r i gave a last ditch effort to try and find a superjet. I called around and no one had a 08, BUT, this dealer i talked to said would i be interested in a used one? i said sure, he said that is a 2003 bought brand new by the owner of the dealership and he hasn't ridden it much at all. He said that it has been sitting out with all the service skis for a while and it shows some, but it would prob clean up good. He also said that it runs perfect, just a little weathered from being outisde. Best news is he said i could go through his dealership and finance it! It is also bone stock... I figured this may still be a better freeride ski than a sx-r! What should i offer him for it? He gave me a price, but i want to see what you guys think its worth. He is in the process of sending me pictures, and i will post them when i get them.

Here are the pictures... they said they would put a brand new battery and a tray mat on it also. He said he can't get to the hood latch to get a engine pic. But he also said he would run it through service and get it water ready! BTW: These are just cell phone pics...

Boris-P.S. "Why get into debt over a toy ??
Wouldn't it be wiser to pick up something older (shock, horror, even a square)for cash ??"

Cause i am sick of getting shiat that breaks and i end up losing a ton of money on it. This would be my only payment, and i plan on having it paid off by next summer, and i gotta get my credit going for when i buy a house. This is a good opportunity to get a good reliable ski, and build my credit as i have fun. I have the money coming in to pay it off way sooner, but don't want to dump a huge load at once. I figured i am gonna tally up how much the intrest will be over the period of the loan, and put that much down so everything i pay, pays on the ski, not the intrest! I talked to yamacat and all the 08s are in south fl. Tack an extra 3-400 in gas just going to get it...

How much should i offer him?

Get a stock 650SJ. You can pay cash for it, and it'll run forever.

Don't get yourself in debt for toys.

THANK YOU! If i can afford it, i don't consider it debt. If i didn't have any money, then financed it, then it would be debt. I'm also trying to build my credit here as well...

just remember-u can always go up with your offer. start low-In my opinion-its real worth is in the low 4's. But-here is a dealer that has obviously had a hard time selling it-so-start in the low to mid 3's.

what is his 'asking price' ? just curious-I already have to RN SJ's. lol

He told me 3800 plus sales tax...

who is financing for u-him? If not-get your money-walk in and throw 35 100.00 bills on the guys desk and say that is all u have-call his bluff. Keep in mind-3800.00 is a really good price in my opinion.

I looked around and i thought that was a fair price as well. I believe the financing will be going through his dealership. If the inside looks as good as the bottom, i'd say it hasn't been ridden much either. The owner was in his late 50s as well, and the boat has never seen salt.

With that being said-if 3800+tax is all he will do-jump on it and request a SIGNED voucher saying he will sell u ANY parts and accesories for that ski at DEAD NUT DEALER COST for 90 days. ie-B pipe, ADA head, on and on.

Blue book is $3815.00 If it is fully refurbished and in excellent condition. Personally for a 100% stocker I think that is too high. I'd rather get one a couple years older with a pipe, prop, head, footholds for $3-$3.5K. Or since you were planning on spending a bunch of coin on a new one because you want something with low hours, there is a 2006 SJ with all the freestyle bells and whistles being sold on this site for around $6800.
