Hello,

I have two RN pre 08 superjets, and I would like to bild one out of them with the best parts for recreational Buoy racing on the lake and carving on the sea.
Could somebody give me an advice about the best settup (which parts to use)?

I would like to keep the SUPERJET WITH ORANGE GRAPHICS motor end hull, beacause of the dual cooling lines and fresh builded motor, but the hull of the superjet with the NEON graphics and white bottom is much more stable when going straight and also when cornering hard the back slips a lot.

PERFORMANCE

My current settup of the SUPERJET WITH ORANGE GRAPHICS has now the next moods (black exhaust) :
- Dual cooling (one intake for the collector, one for the pipe), three water outlets (each cilinder, pipe)
- ADA griled head with domes
- Bigger Mikuni carbs with flame arrestors
- Riva/Speedwerks dry pipe with 2mm water restriction
- Skat-trak 14/20 impeler
- Blowson tubbie front sponsons
- Worx shape rear sponsons
- Worx intake grade
- Three inch shortened pole with straight bars

I would really appreciate any suggestions about my current settup.
Which pipe is better for my current setup, the Riva/Speedwerks dry pipe or the Pro tec one which I think is a wet pipe?

HANDLING

As I mentioned before I would like to keep the ORANGE one hull, but I dont know why it is so unstable. The main differences from one hull to another are:
FRONT SPONSONS
On both there are the same front Blowson type tubbies, the difference is just that on the NEON one the tubbies are mounted fruther back. When I bought the ORANGE on the sponsons were mounted eaven fruther back, but I instaled them as stated in the Blowson guide (attached), 36,1/4 inch from the back of the ski, slightly above the bottom hull.
REAR SPONSONS
The only difference is that the NEON one has RIVA sponsons, that fills the back corner of bond rail area, the ORANGE has just the sponsons mounted on the rail.
RIDE PLATE
Both have an aftermarket plate, but the NEON one has the Dominator plate, which is more extended.
POLE LENGTH
The NEON one has the OEM pole shortened 2 inch, the ORANGE one 3 inch+

I would really appreciate any suggestions about my stability issues on the orange one, so I don't need to change everything.

Should I switch for the longer pole (-2) for more backward position?
Should I change the front sponsons positioning?
Should I change the rear sponsons to fill the gap in the rails?
Shouls I change the ride plate for the longer one?

I will really appreciate any suggestions!!

never had the Blowsion Tubbies, but the Blowsion Destroyer on them pre 08 hull is a game changer. I have a JD loader and JD extended plate. works well for me.

Yes, I have had both on a pre 08’. Destroyers are way better for any type of riding. I think he has a good setup to going, but I would get some destroyers.

I would also put the longer plate on the buoy chaser. The rear stuffer sponsons are not that necessary on a pre 08’. They like a nice long ride plate and destroyers. Possibly hull extensions and if money is no object mag pump time and porting!

Sell one and get an 08+ and setup for lites class. regardless of what you do to your older ones they will never be true competitive skis because 1) there aren’t any classes for modified 2 strokes anymore (at wf anyways, probably could find some class to enter at a local race) except for lites class and 2) newer skis, regardless of brand, all handle so much better than the old rn.

Thank you very much for all your answers!
The thing is that where I am from, tthere is just one private lake where you can ride, so we mostly ride on the sea.
After 06 the EU emmision bulpoop regulation came up, so it was not allowed to register the new 2-stokes anymore, just for closed events use...so this is the reason why there is almost imposible to find an 08+ hull to make it legal.

In any case, I would like to use this ski for recreational riding on the course, not really racing. My main wishes were that I could make my ORANGE logo hull ride as the NEON one, so I dont need to switch all the parts., just find aout what is the issue. Since the hull are identical, on bothh there are sponsonms, aftermarket ride plate, intake and impeler, there must be a reason for this. I have already tried to put on the ORANGE hul lthe extended plate to lift the rear and the ride was better, but still the ski was not as nearly as stable as the other one. The ski is constantly bouncing left to right when going straight, and if you make a hard turn the back looses grip instantly.
I also noticed that the ORANGE ski is leaning to the right, the other is much more straight on the water. Maybe the reason for this is that the Protec pipe is heavier than the Speedwerx one?
Maybe there could be water inside the back hull, beacause the fabric holes for foaming in the hull were not covered, so maxbe I shoud make a little hole to see if water will be leaking out?
Maybe I have the pole too much shortened?
