SuperJet Title Q- AZ to CO

Bought a SN last year with no title, as in AZ only a bill of sale is necessary. I'm going to be moving to Colorado soon and plan on riding out there. Will I have to have a title for it in a place like CO, and is this going to be a huge PITA?
I'm wanting to upgrade sometime in the future so thinking about selling the SN before I move and finding a RN with a title, just looking for some advice on the process if anyone's got some experience with this.

TIA

From what I see in this article, Colorado is a registration only state and does not issue titles..looks like proof of registration from your state is good to show ownership and register….

I like your sell and upgrade idea too… if it was California, you’d have to sell

New York is a registration only state too.

Just to give more info, NC is a title state. If you register a vessel coming from out of state that does not title boats, you need the registration card from the previous owner and a notarized bill off sale. They have even asked me for pencil etchings of the vin tag before! Not sure if that will help but good info.

If you go to your local AZ fish and game, they will look at your bill of sale and record the HIN numbers on your ski and issue a registration. In AZ your registration is basically your title. If I were you I would do that before I moved, might save some hassles in CO.

here you go...

since it will be the first time you register it in co, you will need proof of ownership and the registration form

proof of ownership can be a bill of sale, previous registration (out of state is ok), certificate of title, even original mso will work. here is the list... https://gdoc.pub/doc/e/2PACX-1vTbEE...75c-nlRhfLBpG-GbECiv4W5LKpT-ROxixm44nIm8fpB5r

i used a bill of sale both times (there is a template on the site ( https://cpw.state.co.us/Documents/BuyApply/Bill-of-Sale-Template.pdf ) but any handwritten note with the correct info will work). it will cost you $60.25, which includes the $25 ANS stamp. colorado is serious about stopping mussel infestation and requires watercraft checks before and after entering most waters. there is a tag system that makes it quicker. your $25 is well spent considering the rangers making the checks, the tags, free decon of watercraft, etc.

after the initial registration they will send you a notice every year and you just pay online for the new stickers. if you have snowmobiles, atvs, offroad motorcycles, etc the process is the same

Also worth noting...Colorado requires all trailers be registered and have plates, which is all done separately from the pwc...so if you are planning on using one for your standup...you will have to go to DMV with the trailer registration or proof of ownership and have Colorado generate a title (same for cars and mcs). Sometimes they also require a vin verification, which any officer can do. Cost will be based on the value of the trailer. Gets cheaper as the trailer ages. Bottoms out around $50, when you are pretty much just paying feed and taxes
